Ink Review #20: Diamine Pelham Blue — Fountain Pen Pharmacist

Today I'll be reviewing my first Diamine ink! Pelham Blue is a pretty navy blue which reminds me of sailors & the sea.

Diamine inks have been manufactured since 1864. The company is located in the United Kingdom and boasts an impressive selection of over 100 inks. These inks are popular as they are water-based and affordable.

Swabs:

This is a pleasant, standard navy. It's a bit too blue for office use (coming from someone who uses darker inks). It has a quick drying time, low shading, and no sheen. I found this color to be similar to Robert Oster's Lake of Fire.

Writing Sample:

This ink was well-behaved for longer writing. It is on the dry side and the flow wasn't as generous as other inks. I used a broad Pilot nib but think I will switch back to the medium.

Overall: This ink is well-behaved and a pleasant navy. The color grew on me the more I used it.
