Ink Review #40: Robert Oster Australian Opal Mauve

Today I will be reviewing another Robert Oster ink. This is a dark purple with bluish-grey undertones.

I was surprised at how bluish this ink was. The color in other online reviews showed a vivid, reddish purple. I reached out to Robert and Oster who kindly informed me that these color differences were due to a small mishap. Nevertheless, this was another Robert Oster ink that I enjoyed using.

I found this ink to have no sheen, medium shading, and a quick dry time. The color is darker and has more of a purple tone than R&K's Scabiosa (which has a slight blue/grey hue).

This ink gave me no writing issues and was a joy to use in both medium and flex nibs. I liked the shading.

Overall: This is a pleasant blue-purple for those who would like a change from a standard blue-black ink. I am looking forward to trying another sample!
