Ink Review #395: Tono & Lims Horten 229 — Fountain Pen Pharmacist

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Today we will be reviewing Horten 229- a dark blue.

Swabs:

This ink had low shading and sheen. It is similar to Tono & Lims Dynamite and Pilot Iroshizuku Shin Kai and a few shades lighter than Taccia Ao-guro.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had quite a long dry time at 50 seconds and has no water resistance.

Writing Sample

I had a great time using this sample. It had a wet and consistent flow. This is a great professional blue for the office or school.

Overall: Horten 229 is a lovely dark blue with some shading and sheen.
