Ink Review #549: PenBBS #521 Heavy Snow

Today marks the end of another ink review notebook, the A5 Endless Works Recorder! I was gifted this by a kind pen friend and finished in less than a month. It contains 96 sheets of Tomoe River paper and can be purchased at Goulet Pens. I like the hardcover and portable size, but prefer the “crinkliness” of 52 gsm over 68 gsm paper.

Swabs:

This ink had medium shading and sheen. The color is a darker version of Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo. My sample had redder tones than the swab on Vanness’ site.

This ink had an average dry time of 30 seconds and high water resistance.

This ink had a dry flow, similar to PenBBS #382 Gentiana Acaulis. I was surprised at the flow as my Pilot Justus is generally a wet writer.

Overall: This is a deep velvety reddish-purple. I liked the darker shade more than Yama-Budo.
