Ink Review #561: Rohrer & Klingner Sepia
Today we are reviewing Rohrer & Klinger Sepia. This is a cool-toned light brown.
Update (11/2023): I have been informed from a kind reader that Sepia is not the same as Rohrers Ausziehtusche Sepia (Indian Ink). Ausziehtusche Sepia is a calligraphy ink and can not be used in fountain pens. Thank you!
Swabs:
This ink had medium shading and no sheen. It is similar to J. Herbin Cacao du Bresil and is a darker shade of L’Artisan Pastellier Classique Brun Ours.
Dry Time/Water Resistance:
This ink had an average dry time of 30 seconds and surprisingly high water resistance.
Writing Sample:
Overall: I find that I am drawn to cool-toned light browns and this sample was no exception. The color, shading, and saturation ticked off all the “want to buy” boxes for me. I would love to explore different browns in the future —this would be a great ink to use for casual office work and notes.
Disclaimer: This ink was purchased by me and all opinions/photos are my own. This post was not sponsored.
