Ink Review #8: Robert Oster Blue Denim

Today I will be reviewing Robert Oster's Blue Denim. This is a blue ink that is quite reminiscent of GAP jeans (no, I'm not better than the GAP).

I've reviewed Robert Oster's inks before so I had high expectations for this ink. This was part of my bulk-purchase from Pen Chalet when I prepared for Inktober.

Swabs:

This ink had medium shading, high sheen, and medium drying time. The sunlight catches a pretty red sheen on the edges of the ink. It is quite similar to Robert Oster's Lake of Fire and Organic Studio's Nitrogen. When viewed side by side with Lake of Fire, the differences are extremely subtle.

Beautiful red sheen.

Beautiful red sheen.

I found this ink to be well-behaved. It had a good dry time and was pleasant to use.

Overall: This is a pretty, classic blue with great shading and sheen. However, I don't think this sample captivated me enough to warrant a full bottle purchase. The color and sheening is similar to other inks on the market.
