Ink Review #528: Pelikan Edelstein MoonstoneInk Review #528: Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone

Today we will be reviewing Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone. This was Pelikan’s 2020 Ink of the Year and was released alongside a matching M205 fountain pen. I’ve been looking forward to reviewing this color for a while now.

This ink had high shading and no sheen. It is a cool grey without other hues, and is similar to Kala Opal.

This ink, like other Pelikan inks, had a dry flow. The shading would be best appreciated in broad or wet writers. With writing, it is initially a warm grey (similar to Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-Same) but transitions into a cooler shade as it dries.

Overall: I like grey inks and thought that this was a nice grey. I would most likely use this for class notes as it reminds me of pencil lead.
