Ink Review #672: Parker Quink Blue Black

Today I will be reviewing my first Parker ink! (I was surprised to find this out, as I swore I had reviewed them previously). Oh well—it’s only fitting that my first review is a blue-black ink! Parker is an American company that has produced fountain pens and inks since 1888. Their Quink inks (an abbreviation for quick-drying inks) were created in 1931, and was followed by the famous Parker Jotter pen.

Swabs:

Parker Blue Black had medium shading and no sheen. The color definitely leans more towards the blue end of the blue-black spectrum. I would describe the color as a shade or so darker than classic ballpoint blue.

Blue Black had an average, but very smooth, flow.

Overall: I was very pleased with this sample. I especially liked the smooth flow—I did not experience any hard starts or skips, even after leaving my pen uncapped for a few minutes. It’s a lovely blue reminiscent of Sailor Sei Boku.
